Policy Statement<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Augusta<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>University<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(\u201cAU\u201d)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>believes<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>important<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>recognize<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>superior<\/span>\u00a0academic performance<\/span>\u00a0of undergraduate and Dental College of Georgia students by awarding them Dean\u2019s List designation for a given semester according to the conditions set forth in this<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>policy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To qualify for the Dean\u2019s List, an undergraduate student must (a) earn 12 or more hours of undergraduate course work numbered 1000 or above at AU, exclusive of \u201cK\u201d grades, for that semester; (b) have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.50 for that semester;\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>(c) have<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>received<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>no<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>grade<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cF\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>or<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWF\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>during<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>semester.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>For<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>students<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>incomplete<\/span>(\u201cI\u201d) grade, Dean\u2019s List computations will not be made until a grade is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>determined.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To qualify for the Dean\u2019s List in the Dental College of Georgia students must exhibit acceptable professional behavior, have a grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher for that semester while carrying at least 12 hours of credit, and must not have received any unsatisfactory or failing grades for that semester.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The achievement of each student who qualifies for Dean\u2019s List is acknowledged and noted on the student\u2019s permanent record.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Acceptable Professional Behavior:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The student has not been found to be in violation of the policies or codes of conduct of AU or its colleges, or of state or federal law.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Process & procedures<\/h1>\n

At the end of each semester, grades will be entered into the student information system by faculty\/staff in the respective programs of study and GPAs calculated by the Office of the Registrar.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
