Dean’s List Policy

Policy Statement

Augusta University (“AU”) believes it is important recognize the superior academic performance of undergraduate and Dental College of Georgia students by awarding them Dean’s List designation for a given semester according to the conditions set forth in this policy. 

To qualify for the Dean’s List, an undergraduate student must (a) earn 12 or more hours of undergraduate course work numbered 1000 or above at AU, exclusive of “K” grades, for that semester; (b) have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.50 for that semester; and (c) have received no grade of “F” or “WF” during the semester. For students with an incomplete(“I”) grade, Dean’s List computations will not be made until a grade is determined. 

To qualify for the Dean’s List in the Dental College of Georgia students must exhibit acceptable professional behavior, have a grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher for that semester while carrying at least 12 hours of credit, and must not have received any unsatisfactory or failing grades for that semester. 

The achievement of each student who qualifies for Dean’s List is acknowledged and noted on the student’s permanent record.

Definitions

Acceptable Professional Behavior: The student has not been found to be in violation of the policies or codes of conduct of AU or its colleges, or of state or federal law. 

Process & procedures

At the end of each semester, grades will be entered into the student information system by faculty/staff in the respective programs of study and GPAs calculated by the Office of the Registrar.
